Intestinal Health Tests
If you have headaches, fatigue, depression, weakness and etc. complaints, for which you do not know the reasons, you may experience Intestinal problems deriving from Food intolerance.

Importance of GUT
Recently, it has been detected that gut have essential other functions in addition to food digestion and absorption.

There are more nerve cells in gut (100 million) than the nerve system.

The substance giving many signals such as serotonin and dopamine, which are known as hormone of happiness, is excreted from the brain and gut.

Gut also play a significant role in immunity and defense of a body. 70 to 80% of all the immunity system cells in the body are in the gut. Moreover, the gut’ surface is covered by a protective layer comprising of useful bacteria called biofilm.

It is obvious that all these functions will act better by only healthy gut.

It is observed that the frequency of gut diseases has increased in societies. The reasons for this worrying situation are food additives, dyes, metals, chemicals, toxins, medicines and genetically modified foods we ingest through foods. When all these negative factors come together with stress and fatigue, the health of gut is broken.

Firstly, some disorder arises in the intestinal barrier (hyperpermeable gut) and foreign matters which are harmful for our body get over the barrier and penetrate to the body.

Continuous exposure of the immunity system in the gut to foreign matters leads to decrease in immunity tolerance. Hypersensitivity (intolerance) to food develops. It activates the immunity system and inflammation is started in the intestinal mucosa. This inflammation is not only restricted to the intestinal mucosa, but also causes inflammation to spread to all over the body.

If no action is taken, after some time, autoimmune rheumatic diseases, nerve system disorders may develop and cancer risk may increase.

Intestinal Health Panel

E.g.: A small amount of blood and faece – Result: After 7 days

  • Zonulin Test
  • Calprotectin Test
  • Alpha 1 antitrypsin Test
  • Tumor M2PK test
  • Fecal Occult Blood Test
  • Indigestion, dyspepsy, intestinal problems (diarrhea and intestinal obstruction)
  • Fatigue, weakness, muscle and joint pains
  • Mood disorders

Through the intestinal health panel, the integrity of the intestinal barrier may be exposed and inflammatory intestinal diseases may be detected at an early stage and the development of the diseases may be brought under control.
Znulin Test – Demonstrates the integrity of the gut barrier.
The intestinal cells hold on each other with close ties in order to generate a defense barrier and these ties are controlled by a protein called zonulin. These close ties and zonulin both enable optimal absorption and carriage of foods and activation of the immunity system by generating a barrier to any foreign matters. If there is any disorder in the intestinal barrier and the intestinal permeability increases, the Zonulin levels in blood also increases. In this case, the reasons for the intestinal barrier functional disorder should be examined.
Calprotectin Test – Exposes the intestinal inflammation
Calprotectin is a protein existing in inflammatory cells. It is a very sensitive method showing the start of an inflammatory process in the gut. In inflammatory intestinal diseases, the calprotection level in the feces increases.
Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Test – Detects protein leakage from gut
Inflammation developing in the intestinal mucosa leads to surface epithelium loss and protein leakage to the intestinal lumen. Increase in antitrypsin in the feces is a symptom of protein loss in the intestinal mucosa, deriving from inflammation.
Tumor M2-PK Test – detects intestinal problems under cancer risk
It has been discovered that the Tumor M2-PK test is very useful in detection of intestinal lesions under risk of becoming cancerous in future.

Pyruvate kinase is an enzyme normally enabling consumption of the blood glucose as energy. A special form of this enzyme (M2 type) plays an important role in the course of development of cancer.

A significant level detected in the feces by the Tumor M2-PK test is important for examination of the lesions under cancer risk, such as inflammatory intestinal diseases and polyps.
The fecal occult blood test shows intestinal problems under cancer risk
Through the fecal occult blood test, a bleeding at an early stage may be detected in the intestinal system. The reason for the bleeding may be examined by colonoscopy and an intestinal lesion under cancer risk may be detected at an early stage and prevented through treatment.
