Is it possible to make culture tests while having antibiotics?
As antibiotics may reduce bacteria production, they may also prevent growth altogether. Therefore, they affect the results. This is why it is recommended to take a culture test at least after 2 days following last antibiotic dosage although it varies based on the type of the antibiotic. If it is recommended to give blood during antibiotic use within the approval of your doctor, the name and the dose of the antibiotic must be indicated to laboratory official.
